Sochi Olympic gold medal favorite Sara Takanashi missed out on her fifth consecutive World Cup win on Saturday as she finished second in the 10th event of the series in Planica, Slovenia.

The 17-year-old from Hokkaido, who would have matched Sarah Hendrickson's single-season record of nine wins with victory here, had jumps of 97 and 98 meters on the K-95 hill for 249.3 points, finishing well behind Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz.

"My take off was not good so I could not get enough distance," said Takanashi. "I have found something I need to fix (on Sunday)."

Iraschko-Stolz posted jumps of 100 and 102.5 meters for 261.5 points for her first win since Dec. 2012 and fourth of her career. Germany's Carina Vogt was third with 246.5.
