Teenage ski jumper Sara Takanashi set a Japanese record for career World Cup wins on Sunday when she finished first for the second day in a row at the women's individual meet.

The 17-year-old Sochi Olympic gold medal hope claimed her 17th title with a 98-meter jump on the K-90 Zao hill, earning 127.5 points at the competition shortened to one round of jumps.

"The conditions made for a difficult competition. I am happy I was able to jump well and get a good result for all the people that came to support me," said Takanashi.

Takanashi has won eight titles this season. She tied men's veteran Noriaki Kasai for the most wins by a Japanese ski jumper after topping Saturday's event.

In Sunday's meet, Germany's Carina Vogt was second with 117.5 points and Bigna Windmueller of Switzerland was third with 109.9.
