The New York Yankees have made a qualifying contract offer to starting pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, the club announced on Monday.

Kuroda has until Nov. 11 to accept the offer, which is worth $14.1 million for one year, or decline and become a free agent.

The $14.1 million figure represents the average of the previous year's top 125 free-agent salaries. Per regulations in the league's Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Yankees are ensured draft compensation if Kuroda turns down the offer and signs with another team.

The Yankees also made qualifying offers to Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson.

Kuroda, who turns 39 in February, owns a 27-24 record with a 3.31 ERA over 65 starts in his two seasons in New York.
