Women's World Cup champion Sara Takanashi nailed the day's longest jump in the second round to win the Myoko summer jump in Niigata Prefecture on Sunday.

The 16-year-old Takanashi, a gold medal hope for Japan at next year's Sochi Olympics, jumped 96.5 meters before following her first effort up with a leap of 99.5 to win her first Myoko title with a total of 259.0 points.

Yuki Ito was second and Seiko Koasa was third.

Forty-one-year-old Noriaki Kasai, who along with Takanashi was on the Japan team that won the mixed event at the FIS Ski Jumping Summer Grand Prix in Germany in July, took the men's title.

He nailed jumps of 97 and 100.5 meters for 269.0 points to finish ahead of Yuta Watase and Daiki Ito.
