The Yokohama BayStars had enough fight to force extra innings on Saturday, but could not halt their losing streak as Atori Ota (1-3) issued four 11th-inning walks, sealing a 3-2 walk-off defeat to the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.

The BayStars, who tied the game in the ninth inning on Tony Blanco's 32nd home run, a two-out, two-run shot off Swallows rookie Yasuhiro "Ryan" Ogawa, lost their ninth straight game. Ogawa, who had won seven straight starts, did not figure in the decision. He allowed two runs on nine hits and one walk, while striking out eight.

BayStars closer Jorge Sosa kept the Swallows under wraps in the ninth and 10th innings, but Ota issued four bases on balls to give the game away, with Tetsuto Yamada drawing the game-winner on six pitches.
