Ishikawa finishes 33rd at John Deere

Kyodo

Ryo Ishikawa shot a 1-under-par 10 on Sunday to finish the John Deere Classic in a tie for 33rd, eight strokes off the pace of 19-year-old winner Jordan Spieth of the United States, who won a three-way playoff for his first title.

Ishikawa, who started the final round in a tie for 24th, carded four birdies and three bogies to finish at 11-under-par 273 at TPC Deere Run.

“I didn’t feel that any part of my game was particularly bad,” Ishikawa said. “I will do my best and attempt to win the next tournament.”

Spieth finished in a tie with compatriot Zach Johnson, the defending champion, and Canadian David Hearn, before winning it on the fifth playoff hole. Spieth became the first teenager to win on the PGA tour since 1931.
