Jun Hirose went 4-for-4 to set a Nippon Professional Baseball record by reaching base for the 15th consecutive time in the Hiroshima Carp's 3-2 win over the Chunichi Dragons on Friday.

During his streak, Hirose was hit by pitches three times, drew four walks, hit six singles and two doubles. He opened the scoring with a fourth-inning RBI double a Mazda Stadium.

Carp right-hander Yuichi Hisamoto (1-1) allowed just a run despite walking seven batters and allowing four hits in a 137-pitch outing against the Dragons, the team that released him last winter.
