Aiko Uemura finished third in the women's moguls Friday in a World Cup Olympic test event at the venue for the 2014 Winter Games.

It was Uemura's second podium finish of the campaign following the season-opening competition in the dual moguls in Ruka, Finland, and her first in the moguls since March 2010 at Inawashiro, Fukushima Prefecture.

Four-time Olympian Uemura scored 23.72 points, one full point behind American Hannah Kearney, who claimed her third straight victory to lead the overall standings.

"I'm glad I finished third here in Sochi," Uemura said. "I was calm from the start in both the final and the semifinals. It's nice to get a firsthand feel for the (Olympic) venue."
