Teenager Sara Takanashi finished fifth in Sunday's World Cup women's ski jumping event at Miyamori hill in Hokkaido.

The 16-year-old local product landed a pair of 86-meter jumps to amass 225.4 points as she missed a World Cup podium finish for the second straight day and the third time this season.

Austria's Jacqueline Seifriedsberger took her first gold medal of the season with 245.7 points from jumps of 94 and 93 meters.

Takanashi, who has four victories this season, still leads the World Cup standings with 737 points. American Sarah Hendrickson, last season's champion, was third on Sunday to move into second place with 597 points ahead of Saturday's winner here, Coline Mattel of France on 593 points.

Next weekend's event will be at Zao, Yamagata Prefecture.
