Envoys for the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee left Japan on Sunday for Lausanne, Switzerland, where they will present the International Olympic Committee with Tokyo's candidature file on Monday.

Among those making the presentation will be bid committee CEO Masato Mizuno, silver medal-winning women's soccer player Homare Sawa and Paralympic swimmer Takayuki Suzuki. Tokyo, Madrid and Istanbul are the three cities competing to host the 2020 Summer Olympics. Each city's candidature file represents its master plan for organizing the Olympic Games.

"I want to feel that deeply moving spirit from the London Games once again in Tokyo," Sawa said. "I want to do all I can."

Mizuno said, "It's a superb, compact plan that utilizes civic energy and operational know-how to produce an Olympic Games the world will marvel at."

When Tokyo bid for the 2016 Games, its candidature file was held in a traditional Japanese furoshiki cloth wrapping, but the 2020 candidature file was simply enclosed in a box.

The final selection of the 2020 Games host city will be made at the 125th IOC session in Buenos Aires on Sept. 7.
