Nadeshiko Japan striker Shinobu Ono on Friday announced her transfer from INAC Kobe to two-time women's European champions Lyon.

The 28-year-old Ono has been integral to Japan's rise in women's soccer, helping Norio Sasaki's side win the Women's World Cup last year and clinch a silver medal at this summer's London Olympics.

Ono is the all-time top scorer in the Nadeshiko League. Lyon beat INAC for the international women's club championship last month in Japan.

"I hope to make the most of my experience from Japan and play to my strengths overseas," Ono said.
