Hasegawa targets belt after victory

Former WBC bantamweight and featherweight world champion Hozumi Hasegawa declared himself ready to return to the throne after beating Mexican Arturo Santos by unanimous decision in a non-title fight Saturday.

Hasegawa fought for the first time since April when he knocked out Felipe Carlos Felix in another non-title bout. The 32-year-old said his next fight will be for a world title either at super bantamweight or featherweight.

“I don’t really care who it is as long as he’s a champion,” Hasegawa said. “I just want to get back to where I was.”
