Hawaiian-born former yokozuna Musashimaru will inherit the Musashigawa name and open his own stable next year.

The 41-year-old Koyo Musashimaru would become the second foreigner after former sekiwake Takamiyama (now Azumazeki) to have his own stable.

Musashigawa, who is set to retire at 65 in February, said Friday he will pass on his name to the former Musashimaru, who currently goes by the name Oshima. Both Musashigawa and Oshima belong to the Fujishima stable.

Fujishima, known as ozeki Musoyama during his career, inherited his stable from Musashigawa in September 2010 but re-branded it to its existing name.

"I want (Oshima) to inherit my name once I retire," Musashigawa said. "But I think he's looking hard for new recruits because he can't open a stable without any wrestlers."
