Two-time world champion Miki Ando will miss two Grand Prix series competitions in November as she is struggling with her conditioning and in need of a new coach after parting ways with Russian Nikolai Morozov.
The Japan Skating Federation said Tuesday that 24-year-old Ando will miss the Cup of China from Nov. 2 to 4 and the Trophee Eric Bompard in France from Nov. 16 to 18, explaining she is not in full form physically or mentally in the absence of a coach.
Ando, who sat out the 2011-12 season, cut ties with Morozov after winning her second world title last year under the Russian.
She was entered to compete in both the Cup of China and Trophee Eric Bompard, the third and fifth events of the series, but JSF figure skating head Hidehito Ito said late last month that he had heard nothing about who will take over as her new coach.
