TOMAKOMAI, HOKKAIDO – South Korea’s Ahn Sun Ju shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday for a two-stroke victory at the Nitori Ladies, claiming her second title of the season and the 10th of her career.
Ahn finished at 14-under 202, two shots ahead of compatriot and tour earnings leader Jeon Mi Jeong, who was alone in second while Rikako Morita was another three back along with South Korea’s Kang Soo Yun at 9 under.
Morita had five back-nine birdies en route to a 65.
“I was pleased to score 63 yesterday and 68 today, but to win on this difficult course makes me really happy,” said Ahn, who led the Japan tour in earnings from 2010 to 2011. “I was determined not to cry, but that’s what happened.”
Lala Anai, who started the day two strokes back of Ahn in second, carded a 72 that left her six back alone in fifth place.
