Japan to face Belarus, Mexico in London Games tuneup matches

The Japan men’s soccer team will play its pre-Olympic friendlies against Belarus and Mexico in Nottingham, England, the Japan Football Association announced on Tuesday.

Takashi Sekizuka’s side will face Belarus on July 18 before taking on Mexico three days later. Both Belarus and Mexico are also in the Olympic tournament.

Japan’s first match at the Summer Games is on July 26 against Spain in Glasgow. Also in its group are Honduras and Morocco.
