TOYOTA, AICHI PREF. – South Korea’s Lee Ji Hee overcame a nervous start to win her third Chukyo TV Bridgestone Ladies Open title on Sunday, shooting a 5-under-par 67 to beat Rikako Morita by three strokes.
Lee, who had a three-shot cushion going into the final round at Chukyo Golf Club, stumbled with a bogey on the fourth hole, but recovered to drain six birdies through eight holes from No. 8 and add to her victories here in 2006 and 2008.
The 33-year-old from Seoul, who wrapped up her second win of the season and 17th of her career in Japan with a 54-hole total of 16-under 200, earned ¥12.6 million to move up to third on the money list behind compatriots Ahn Sun Ju and Jeon Mi Jeong.
“I got nervous and my shots were not good from the first hole, but even so I was able to save par,” said Lee, winner of the T-Point Ladies in March.
