Japan cruises at table tennis worlds

Unbeaten Japan breezed past Poland 3-0 to extend its winning streak to three in the women’s tournament on the second day of the World Team Table Tennis Championships on Monday.

Japan, which defeated Spain and Serbia on the opening day, led with wins by Ai Fukuhara and Sayaka Hirano, over Magdalena Szczerkowska and Katarzyna Grzybowska, respectively, before Kasumi Ishikawa downed Natalia Partyka in Group C action.
