Sara Takanashi finished second in the last event of the inaugural World Cup season for women's ski jumping on Friday.

The 15-year-old Takanashi had jumps of 100.5 and 108 meters on the K-95 hill to receive a total of 250.7 points, 3.4 points behind American Sarah Hendrickson, the overall World Cup winner who won nine of the season's 13 events.

Hendrickson earned a season total of 1,169 points. Takanashi was third with 639 points after winning once — last Saturday in Zao, Yamagata Prefecture — and placing second six times.
