LJUBNO, SLOVENIA – Japan’s Sara Takanashi tied a personal World Cup best in finishing second at a meet in Slovenia on Saturday.
The Winter Universiade gold medalist landed jumps of 82.5 and 82 meters on the normal hill in Ljubno to score 245.2 points. American Sarah Hendrickson claimed her fifth win of the season with 246.5.
“I am satisfied with both of my jumps and with second place,” said Takanashi. “I have a chance to win tomorrow (Sunday). It will have to be my best performance. Hendrickson is a strong rival.”
Austria’s Daniela Iraschko was third with 229.2, while Japan’s Ayumi Watase and Yoshiko Kasai both scored 200.8 to share 16th.
