Tomoko Fukumi continued to build her case for this summer's London Olympics, outclassing Brazil's Sarah Menezes in the 48-kg final to win the Grand Slam Paris judo title on Saturday.

Fukumi, who defeated Haruna Asami for the World Masters title last month after losing to her rival in two consecutive world championship finals, beat Menezes on points to clinch victory at the two-day tournament.

Notably missing from this meet was Asami, who has an injured left knee.

"It was important that I fought well in this tournament but my priority was winning," said Fukumi. "My judo is definitely improving. I want to go for broke to prove what I am capable of in the Olympics (at the final Olympic qualifier in May)."
