Ito captures second straight title

Daiki Ito captured his second title in as many days on Sunday, coming from behind with the longest leap of the day on his second attempt to win a World Cup event in Sapporo.

The 26-year-old Ito, who won his first career World Cup at the same Okurayama hill on Saturday, was in third place after a jump of 127.5 meters and moved atop the leaderboard with a monster effort of 137 meters on his second run to score 243.7 points.

Poland’s Kamil Stoch came second with 241.6 points, while overall rankings leader Andreas Kofler of Austria placed third with 241.3.
