MUNICH – Teenager striker Takashi Usami scored his first goal for Bayern Munich as they advanced to the third round of the German Cup with a 6-0 demolition of second-division Ingolstadt on Wednesday.
Usami sent a right-footed shot into the left-hand corner of the net to cap the scoring in the 90th minute after coming on as a substitute with 17 minutes remaining.
The 19-year-old was making only his second first-team appearance since he joined the Bundesliga club in July from Gamba Osaka.
“I’m glad I got one on the scoresheet,” said Usami. “I’ve never had that experience in my football career — coming on and going out like that on my debut. I thought I had to bounce back and make an impact.”
