Japan had to settle for a silver medal in the women's team event while the men could only manage a bronze as host France swept both events on the final day of the World Judo Championships on Sunday.
Japan's women beat Britain 5-0 in the first round and edged Cuba 3-2 in the quarterfinals before romping 5-0 over South Korea in the semifinals.
