Rookie Takahiro Shiomi (6-7) pitched 6⅓ scoreless innings as the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles beat the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks 2-0 on Friday.

Rakuten collected its sixth straight victory, its longest winning streak in two years.

Kensuke Uchimura had a two-run single in the fifth off Sho Iwasaki (5-2) at Kleenex Stadium.

Darrell Rasner picked up his eighth save.

Buffaloes 3, Marines 1

At Kobe’s Hotto Motto Field, Hisao Arakane broke a 1-1 tie with a pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh inning off Bill Murphy (2-3) as Orix handed Chiba Lotte its fourth consecutive loss.

Evan MacLane (2-2) threw seven innings of one-run ball. Lotte scored its first run in 25 innings when Yoshifumi Okada had a run-scoring single in the third.

Lions 4, Fighters 3 (10)

At Seibu Dome, Tatsuyuki Uemoto delivered a pinch-hit walk-off single with two outs in the 10th as Seibu outlasted Hokkaido Nippon Ham.

The Lions’ Takeya Nakamura homered twice to raise his baseball-leading total to 32.

Carp 1, Giants 0

At Hiroshima’s Mazda Stadium, Jumpei Shinoda threw three-hit ball over 7⅔ solid innings and beat vaunted rookie Hirokazu Sawamura in the process as the Carp downed Yomiuri.

Kenta Kurihara had an RBI single in the first, his 1,000th career hit, for the lone run.

Hiroshima has won three games in a row.

Shinoda (5-5) struck out six and walked two. He retired the first eight batters he faced before yielding a two-out single to Sawamura in the third.

Sawamura (6-10) allowed one run and seven hits in seven innings of work.

Tigers 9, Swallows 4

At Koshien Stadium, Keisuke Kano had a tiebreaking two-run single, Yasutomo Kubo (7-4) pitched two-run ball over seven frames and Hanshin pulled away for a win over CL leader Yakult to move into second place.

Takahiro Arai and Matt Murton tied it 2-2 on back-to-back RBI singles off Kyohei Muranaka (2-4) before Kano’s single put the Tigers ahead 4-2 in the third.

Hanshin added two runs each in the fifth and seventh and one in the eighth to put the game out of reach.
