Looking to add depth and veteran experience to their undersized frontcourt, the Saitama Broncos announced the signing of veteran center George Leach over the weekend.
The Broncos (2-6) have the worst record in the bj-league’s seven-team Eastern Conference.
Leach, who played for the Ryukyu Golden Kings last season, played college ball at Indiana University, the same school that bj-league standouts Jeff Newton (Golden Kings) and Lynn Washington (Osaka Evessa) attended.
Leach was the league’s 10th-leading rebounder last season (10.35 per game). He averaged 14.3 points in 52 games.
The 210-cm Leach has also previously played for the Takamatsu Five Arrows.
