WBA flyweight champion Daiki Kameda is set to fight former champion Takefumi Sakata in August or later.
Keiichiro Kanehira, the head of Sakata’s Kyoei Boxing Gym, said Monday the two sides have agreed to hold the world title match while details will be worked out later, including the date and venue.
“As the champion, Daiki made a responsible decision to fight Sakata,” Kanehira said “The match will be realized with the support of many people in the boxing world.”
