Bettor wins record payout at Tokyo horse race

A lucky punter pocketed the biggest ever payout in the history of authorized sports betting in Japan by correctly predicting the first three finishers of a horse race at Oi Racecourse in Tokyo on Tuesday.

The winning trifecta returned a whopping ¥24,880,720, easily eclipsing the previous record of ¥19.11 million paid out at a horse race in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, in February 2009.
