Fukudome leads Cubs past Mariners

PEORIA, Ariz. (Kyodo) Chicago Cubs outfielder Kosuke Fukudome drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in a 1-0 win over the Seattle Mariners in a spring training game on Sunday.

Fukudome had a sacrifice fly to center on the first pitch from Ryan Rowland-Smith to plate Jeff Baker from third in the sixth inning. Ichiro Suzuki went 1-for-4.

In Port St. Lucie, Fla., New York Mets right-hander Ryota Igarashi gave up three runs, including a solo homer to Nick Stavinoha, in one inning of relief in a 10-5 loss the St. Louis.
