SAPPORO (Kyodo) Daiki Ito claimed his second podium finish of the season Saturday after finishing third at a World Cup ski jumping meet.
Ito, named on Wednesday to Japan’s five-man Vancouver Olympic team, had jumps of 133 and 128 meters on the K-120 Okurayama Hill to finish with 266.3 points.
Austria’s Thomas Morgenstern won his second title of the season with 271.5 points while Germany’s Andreas Wank was second with 267.5.
Veteran Noriaki Kasai led after the first round with a leap of 135.5 meters but could only manage 112.5 meters on his second effort and ended up sixth with 242.9 points.
Shohei Tochimoto, Taku Takeuchi and Takanobu Okabe, Japan’s three other Vancouver Games representatives, placed seventh, 15th and 29th, respectively.
