SAPPORO (Kyodo) Japan’s World Cup ski jumping members finished in the top four at the HTB Cup on Saturday, with Noriaki Kasai leading the way.
The 37-year-old Kasai made the day’s longest jump of 139.5 meters and added a jump of 131.5 meters on the K-120 Okurayama Hill to earn 289.3 points at this second-tier Continental Cup event.
The veteran captured his first HTB Cup title in six years and fourth overall.
“I’m thrilled that I won despite being sleepy due to jet lag,” said Kasai. “I’m doing well. I just want to avoid injuries and get in my best form for the Olympics.”
