Nishikori to play in Japan Open

Kyodo News

Kei Nishikori, who has become the youngest Japanese player to break into the top 100 of the men’s world rankings, will play in the Japan Open this fall, the Japan Tennis Association said Thursday.

Nishikori will return to the Japan Open, where the 18-year-old made his professional debut last year. Former world No. 1 Andy Roddick and last year’s winner David Ferrer are among the notable players planning to take part in the tournament to be held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 15 at Ariake Tennis Forest Park in Tokyo, the JTA said.
