KOFU, Yamanashi Pref. – Yuki Hiraoka won his third straight title in record-setting fashion in the men’s 94-kilogram class at the National Weightlifting Championships on Saturday. Hiraoka hoisted 155 kg to match the national record in the snatch and then set new national records with 195 kg in the clean and jerk and a winning total of 350 kg at Kose Sports Park. In other men’s weight categories, Yoshito Shintani set a national record of 176 kg in the clean and jerk en route to taking the 69-kg crown with a total of 311 kg. Tomohiro Asada and Yuji Yoshioka won the 77 kg and 85 kg, respectively.
