Mongolian yokozuna Asashoryu overpowered countryman Tokitenku to win a one-day sumo tournament in Tokyo on Sunday. Asashoryu lifted out Miyabiyama in the semifinals and was given a stern test by Asasekiryu before yanking the top-ranked maegashira down at Ryogoku Kokugiukan to become the first wrestler to win the event three times in a row.
