The Asian Handball Federation has threatened to make an appeal to an arbitration body if replays of the Asian Olympic qualifiers will be played in line with a recent decision by the International Handball Federation, a ranking Japanese handball official said Saturday. The AHF has told the IHF that the matter might be brought to the Court of Arbitration in Sport if the replays will be staged between only Japan and South Korea as endorsed by the IHF, the official said. On Friday, the IHF notified the Japan Handball Association of its decision to hold the matches between the two countries on Jan. 29 and 30 at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo. The JHA announced Saturday that the women’s match will be played Jan. 29, followed by the men’s contest the following day.
