SHIMA, Fukuoka Pref. – Katsumasa Miyamoto fired a sizzling 7-under-par 64 to take a slender lead after the first round of the KBC Augusta on Thursday. Seeking his first win in four years, Miyamoto recovered from a bogey on the second hole at Keya Golf Club by with an eagle on the sixth before going on to reach the halfway point at 2-under after a bogey and two birdies. The 34-year-old stepped up a gear after the turn and reeled off five birdies on a bogey-free inward journey to lead Australian Steven Conran by one stroke.
