ICHIHARA, Chiba Pref. – Ai Miyazato racked up the most points in two nine-hole stages in the final round Saturday, leading the Japan LPGA team to victory in the Three Tours Championship.
Miyazato topped her group by going 4-under-par on the front nine and finished the final stage tied with Shingo Katayama at 2-under over the last nine holes to help her team, which also included Sakura Yokomine and Shin Hyun Ju, collect a total of 37 points at King Fields Golf Club.
Tsuneyuki Nakajima and Isao Aoki helped the senior tour team finish second with a combined 30.5 points, while the regular tour squad led by money title winner Katayama was third with 28.5.
The two-day unofficial team competition featured players from each of the three domestic tours, who used three different tee boxes to make it 7,127 yards for the players from the regular tour, 6,797 yards for the senior players and 5,868 yards for the women.
