The Tokyo Apache announced Thursday that 214-cm player Nick Billings has been released. The 24-year-old Billings, who was acquired by the bj-league club in the offseason, has played in three of the team’s four games this season.

He averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots per game. The club also announced that Yasuhiro Ohba will have surgery on his left knee and is expected to be sidelined for two months.

The Apache have struggled, going 1-3 and defensively giving up 90.5 points per game, worst in the league, through last weekend. Tokyo returns to the court against the host Oita HeatDevils on Saturday and Sunday.
