KEISEN, Fukuoka Pref. – First-round joint leader Jeev Milkha Singh moved one shot clear at the top of the leaderboard after shooting a 7-under-par 65 in the second round of the Asahi Ryokuken Yomiuri Memorial on Friday.
Riding a wave of momentum from his Volvo Masters victory last week in Spain, Singh eagled two of the par-5 holes in a round that also included five birdies and two bogeys as he reached the halfway point on 13-under 131 at Aso Iizuka Golf Club.
Tetsuji Hiratsuka also shot a 65 and followed the Indian on 132, with South Korea’s I.J. Chang, the other overnight leader, a further stroke behind after a 67.
