Japan Football League clubs Tokushima Vortis and Ehime F.C. filed applications on Wednesday for entry into the J. League in a bid to join its second division next season.

Another JFL team, Thespa Kusatsu, is expected to turn in applications for J. League membership by Thursday's deadline. The J. League plans to allow two of them to play in the league next season.

JFL club Gunma FC Horikoshi said Wednesday it has abandoned its plan to apply for J. League membership due to insufficient preparations and will retry next year for entry in the 2006 season.
