Heavy rain hit the Japanese archipelago Tuesday, disrupting operations at Tokyo Disneyland and bullet-train services in some regions.

The Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea amusement parks in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, were hit by a blackout shortly after noon following thunderstorms.

Visitors were led into buildings to avoid being struck by lightning, while the park operator had already stopped a number of attractions due to the thunderstorms. Services were fully resumed around 3 p.m.

Service on the Yamagata Shinkansen Line was suspended between Fukushima and Yonezawa stations, with torrential rain falling in the city of Fukushima, according to East Japan Railway Co. and the Meteorological Agency.

Heavy rain in Aichi Prefecture disrupted train operations between Mikawaanjo and Gifuhashima stations on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line, Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) said.

The Meteorological Agency warned of thunderstorms and landslides in some parts of the country as it predicted more rain through Wednesday.
