The government said Thursday it will conduct fuel consumption tests on some Mitsubishi Motors Corp. vehicles after revelations that the automaker routinely rigged fuel performance figures for the cars.
The transport ministry will begin collecting data on four models next week and announce the results in June.
The ministry has separately ordered Mitsubishi Motors to resubmit fuel economy data on all of its models by May 11.
