Gurunavi Inc. said Thursday that the Internet restaurant guide operator and 15 other Japanese entities will launch their planned joint online sightseeing information services on April 13.
The announcement of the service launch date was made together with railwayrs Tokyu Corp. and Tokyo Metro Co.
The service, named Live Japan Perfect Guide Tokyo, will provide accurate and detailed real-time information, including on tourist spots, restaurants and shopping, mainly in Tokyo.
Trends among foreign tourists will be grasped by analyzing their behavior in Japan and will be reflected in the service content.
The joint initiative is aimed to providing one-stop services by offering functions helpful for tourists, such as search for places where Wi-Fi wireless communications are available and routes to destinations.
The participating entities other than Gurunavi, Tokyu and Tokyo Metro are NTT Broadband Platform Inc., Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Keisei Electric Railway Co., Keikyu Corp., Seibu Railway Co., All Nippon Airways, Airport Transport Service Co., the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Bureau of Transportation, Tobu Railway Co., Narita International Airport Corp., Yamato Transport Co., Tokyo International Air Terminal Corp. and Keio Corp.
