Multilingual news organization Euronews S.A. of France plans to enter the Japanese market in December.
Its programs, which range from reports on European affairs, science and technology to culture and sports, will be broadcast by teaming up with NTT Plala Inc., operator of the Internet-based Hikari TV delivery service.
Hikari TV clients will be able to view Euronews programs in English and French, but they will not be subtitled or dubbed in Japanese. Hikari TV also offers other foreign news channels, including CNN and BBC, as well as France's TV5 and China's CCTV.
