A 52-year-old deliveryman for the daily Asahi Shimbun was arrested Monday for allegedly abandoning a woman's body in a bathtub at his home.
Yoshikazu Kitano was arrested for allegedly abandoning the body of Rika Aomori, 46, who had been missing for a few days, in the adjacent city of Hatsukaichi.
There were no signs of foul play where Kitano's body was found, and police plan to conduct an autopsy, investigators said. It was not immediately clear if the two were acquainted.
Aomori's mother alerted the police on Friday after she went missing Tuesday.
Police found Kitano driving Aomori's car in Hiroshima on Sunday night and found Aomori's body when they searched his home.
