Japanese advertising agency Hakuhodo DY Holdings Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired all the shares in Canadian ad company Sid Lee International LLC for an undisclosed amount as part of its efforts to expand overseas.

Headquartered in Quebec and with offices in Canada, France, the Netherlands and the United States, Sid Lee provides services in such fields as digital marketing, architecture and interior design. It has digital technology and architecture companies under its umbrella.

Hakuhodo has been acquiring specialized marketing companies as part of its effort to make more profits overseas. In June, it acquired U.S. digital content company Digital Kitchen LLC.
