A man who claims to be a "supporter" of the teenager arrested earlier this week for allegedly planning to fly a drone over a Tokyo shrine told police Friday that he gave the 15-year-old ¥250,000 (about $2,080) for his efforts.
"I enjoyed his (online) videos so much that I thought I'd like to support him," the man was quoted as saying by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police.
The man, who dropped by the Asakusa police station in the morning, said he transferred the money to the teen's account so he could buy a personal computer.
