With the release of the seventh "Star Wars" installation looming in December, Toys "R" Us Japan Ltd. on Saturday opened dedicated in-store displays at its Odaiba and Kobe stores in an attempt to expand the fan base.

"We launched this promotion because we'd like to fully take advantage of the 'Star Wars' franchise at Toys 'R' Us stores to increase 'Star Wars' fans," said Mitsuru Yamaguchi, a senior buyer at the company's core toys department, during an opening event at the Odaiba store.

The special "Destination Star Wars" booths are only stocked with items related to the phenomenally popular space fantasy, including lightsabers, figurines, costumes and Lego blocks.
