Japan Airlines Co. will start offering in-flight wireless Internet connection on some of its domestic flights from July 23, the airline said.

Passengers on some flights connecting Haneda with Hakodate, Hokkaido, Osaka and Fukuoka will have access to the wireless Internet on their PCs or smartphones if they pay for the service, the airline said, noting that it is the first time such services will be offered on domestic flights.

Fees depend on routes and devices.

On some routes the connection will be available for ¥400 per 30 minutes, the airline said.

JAL and other carriers already offer wireless Internet connection services on international flights. All Nippon Airways Co. is also considering to offer similar services on its domestic flights.
