A U.S. serviceman was arrested Sunday for allegedly driving drunk in the village of Kita-Nakagusuku, Okinawa, police said.

Christopher Hardy, a 22-year-old airman at nearby U.S. Kadena Air Base, had a blood-alcohol level five times over the legal limit when he was arrested, the police said, citing a breath analyzer test.

Police said the car Hardy was driving allegedly veered into the wrong lane and crashed into a taxi in the village around 8:15 a.m.

Neither Hardy nor the taxi driver was hurt.
